Jacob Mulenga inducted into Chateauroux’s Hall of Fame

CHINA based Zambian striker, Jacob Mulenga, has been inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ of the French Ligue 2 side, Chateauroux.

Jacob who kick started his football career in Zambia with Afrisport, joined Chateauroux in 2004.

The former Zambia international striker went on to play 109 games for the French side, scoring 27 goals with one goal being named the Goal-of-the-Season Award in the French Ligue 2.

Jacob joins the group of 49 other former Chateauroux players who, among others, include former Chelsea midfielder, Florent Malouda, who played for the club from 1996-2000.

A great achievement by the Zambian player considering that Chateauroux is over 100 years old, and stems back to 1883.

Mulenga also holds the record for most goals scored by a Zambian player in the French Ligue 2, Dutch Eredivisie and China League One.

The former chipolopolo striker, played for Zambia between 2003 and 2014 before retiring from international after featuring in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former Afrisports striker, played his last game for Chipolopolo in its 1-2 loss away to Cape Verde in 2014.
