AFTER a troubled season in the ended transitional league, Zanaco are reorganising themselves by bringing in new players during transfer window.

The Bankers are looking to boost their squad ahead of the 2019/2020 season which kicks off in August.

They expect to beef up the defence.

Zanaco have recruited three new players in Kabwe Warriors striker Emmanuel Okutu, Lusaka Dynamos winger Mwansa Nsofwa and left-back Kebson Kamanga.

The trio joins former captain Ziyo Tembo on the list of players who have completed their switch to the 2016 Super League champions.

Okutu was released from Napsa at the end of the 2017 season.

He then followed former Napsa coach Tenant Chilumba at Kabwe Warriors in 2018.

Okutu was among the influential players for Warriors in the just-ended transitional season helping the Kabwe-based side to fight for the title only to miss out on continental by a whisker.

Nsofwa, on the other hand, is looking to revive his career after his move from Kabwe Warriors to Lusaka Dynamos failed to yield results as he did not manage to establish himself there.

Kamanga will be making his second stint at Zanaco Sunset after his first stint with the club failed to yield results.

Kamanga was later of-loaded by Zanaco in 2016 before resurfacing at Nkwazi where he has become a dependable player and earned himself a place in the Zambia u-23 national team.

Both Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba and general manager Marlon Kananda have indicated the need to boost the team by reinforcing the defence ahead of the next season.

Zanaco finished fourth in the transitional league after being beaten 4-1 by Buildcon in the third/fourth league coronation match last Saturday at Woodlands Stadium.

The Bankers ended the season without any silverware after failing to beat Zesco in the finals of the 2019 ABSA Cup losing 4-1 to the Ndola-based side.
