FAZ disciplinary committee on Tuesday warded Young Green Eagles three points following their protest against Yeta FC who fielded two ineligible players in their week 23 league game.
Eagles have consequently qualified to a promotional play off against Kansanshi Dynamos who were this weekend scheduled to play Zesco Shockers.
Shockers who were winners of the Zone 4 league before the ruling, have been displaced from their slot to the Super League play-off.
According to a statement by FAZ communications manager Mwazi Chanda, FAZ disciplinary Committee docked three points from Yeta of Sesheke after being found guilty of using two ineligible players in their Week 23 league fixture on 12th May, 2019 against Young Green Eagles.
According to the ruling by the FAZ Disciplinary Committee, Yeta Football Club fielded two ineligible players namely Mwangala Siyanga and Blessings Mwamba whose images did not correspond with the ones on the FAZ cards.
Young Eagles lodged a complaint in the aftermath of the match and provided evidence.
In its defence Yeta denied allegations saying that there was no video evidence to validate the claim and failed to pitch for the hearing.
“An opportunity was given to Yeta Football Club to come and address these allegations but they declined to do so.”
The verdict further reads: “It is evident that Yeta Football Club used unregistered players in the game against Young Green Eagles on 12th May, 2019 in direct contravention of the rules.
“Consequently, we find for the complainant in this matter and we award three points to Young Green Eagles Football Club via a 3-0 score line as per Article 77 of the FAZ Constitution.”
The verdict lifts Young Eagles to 66 points and will earn the right to play Kansanshi Dynamos on Saturday (July 6, 2019) in the play-offs with the other fixture pitting National Assembly and Kabwe Youth Academy.
