DIVISION Two Lusaka Tigers Football Club is tomorrow expected to host its 2019 annual general meeting ahead of the new season.

Chairman Teddy Njovu said in an interview that the club was set to hold its general meeting at its stadium in Lusaka’s Matero Township.

Njobvu said the meeting was aimed at reporting to members how the team had performed in the just-ended season.

He said the meeting would also review the season by looking at the challenges faced in the ended transitional league.

“The executive will have to report back to the members on how we performed in this transitional season. As you are aware it was a very short season,” he said.

“We came with completely new team through which we managed to keep our position in the new league. But we are still waiting to hear from FAZ [Footbal Association of Zambia] weather we will be playing in Division Two or Division One.

Njobvu said having maintained its position in the third tier league, his team was awaiting to learn its fate as to whether it would be included in the restructured division’s provincial division one.

He said the general meeting was open to all fully paid members as well as new members.

Njobvu said owing to some complaints from members of the community about the lack of cards, the club would also start selling membership cards at the meeting.

“Because of the complaints we’ve been receiving from members of our community in Matero, we decided to also sell our cards to news members at the meeting. So all are welcome because the club belongs to everyone, Njobvu said.

Njobvu described his team’s performance in the just-ended league as average.

He said Lusaka Tigers would have qualified to the Division One league had it not been for the complete overhaul of the team at the beginning of the season.

It finished seventh in the FAZ Division Two transitional season.
