CHIEFTAINESS Msoro of the Kunda people in Mambwe District says she will not tolerate abuse in the form of cattle herding for boys and early marriages for the underage girls instead of taking them to school.

She said her subjects who would be involved in organising such marriages and taking boys for cattle herding would be disciplined by the royal court.

Chieftainess Msoro was speaking on Wednesday when she, accompanied by headmen and indunas, addressed more than 200 people at Kasamanda Day Secondary School.

Chieftainess Msoro urged her subjects to focus on development and not to waste time on things that would not benefit them in any way.

“People must desist from activities such as excessive beer drinking if they have to contribute positively towards national development, and not to waste time on things that will not benefit them in any way,” she said.

Chieftainess Msoro also warned perpetrators of gender-based violence (GBV) to stop because they would be punished if found guilty.

She advised her indunas and village headmen to ensure that GBV was curbed in their communities.
