A GROUP of six set of twins in selected parts of Zambia have donated baby hampers worth K4,100 to the conjoined twins who were at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) and the quadruplets who were born at the facility.

Speaking during the donation, Joel Mwanza, who spoke on behalf of the twins said giving was a joy to them and that every true Christian should see giving as an assignment from God.

Mr Mwanza said the sets of twins were happy to see and hear that the twins were fine and in good health and that they were responding well to treatment.

He said they decided to engage other sets of twins so that they could make the event unique and make a difference in the lives of the twins and the quadruplets because they believed twins were a brand and a blessing to the world.

“We are happy to see the twins in good shape and responding well to treatment. We are also happy to hear that the quadruplets are very fine,” Mr Mwanza said.

“This time we are donating not only to the separated twins, Justin and Harrison; we are also extending our helping hands to the quadruplets. We believe twins are a blessing to the world and are a brand,” he said.

Mr Mwanza appealed to well-wishers to come on aboard and contribute to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children, the aged and persons living with disabilities.

Kangaroo Mother Care Ward sister in charge at the Mothers and Newborn Hospital Joy Katinya thanked the twins for the kind gesture they had shown to Harrison and Justin and also to the quadruplets.

Ms Katinya said the separated twins were doing “very well” and that they did not have any complications.

They were feeding well and the hospital was helping them to grow.

And the father of the quadruplets, Terry Mwansa, said he was humbled by the donation.

The mother of the separated twins was grateful for the hampers and thanked the hospital for a successful operation for her children.
