China Habour donates to needy children

CHINA Harbour has donated assorted items and foodstuffs to Home of Happiness for children with disabilities in Lusaka’s Matero Township.

The items included mealie meal, brooms, books, blankets, footballs, cooking oil and washing paste.

The donations were handed over by Jesse Wu, a deputy manager of China harbor, and was received by coordinator of Home of Happiness Bernadette Mulenga.

Mr Wu said during the handover that the organisation had decided to donate as a way of giving back to the community as part of its social responsibility.

“We strongly believe in our core values of responsibility, returning to the society with a high quality and establishing a win-win cooperation driven by the corporate spirit of inclusion, integrity, innovation and dedication,” Mr Jesse said.

He said China Harbour was pleased to contribute to the uplifting of the standards of living for the local people communities in Zambia, including to Home of Happiness for Children with Disabilities.

M Jesse said the company was grateful to be part of the corporate world making a difference in a small way, especially to Home of Happiness for Children with Disabilities.

Receiving the donation, Ms Mulenga thanked China Harbour.

She said the donation would help change the lives of the vulnerable children.

Ms Mulenga said she considered the donation as a blessing from God.

“We regard your visit as a blessing and an honoured privilege. Let us remind ourselves that this visit has a blessing from God and inspired by Him. We strongly believe that it is the Lord who has worked into your being here to see our beloved vulnerable children living with disabilities,” she said.

Ms Mulenga said the donation demonstrated the desire and responsibility the company had to uplift the lives of the poor.

The donation would make the work of caregivers easier.
