Mkushi accident claims life

A 26-YEAR-OLD man identified as Cretus Mutuna of Lusaka’s Garden House area has died in a road traffic accident on Ilume Road in Mkushi.
The accident happened in the early hours of yesterday around 05:30 hours in Itala Compound of Mkushi district when Mr Mutuma, who was driving a Toyota Hilux registration number BAA 8775, lost control due to excessive speed and overturned.
Police public relations officer Esther Katongo said the driver sustained head injuries and died on the spot, while his unidentified passengers escaped unhurt.
“One person has died in a fatal road traffic accident which occurred in the early hours of today, Saturday 1st June, 2019 at 0530 hours on Ilume road in Itala Compound in Mkushi involving a Toyota Hilux registration number BAA 8775 driven by Cretus Mutuna, aged 24, of Garden House, Lusaka, with two passengers on board,” Ms Katongo said.
She said the body was deposited in Mkushi Hospital mortuary.
