ZACA calls for stiffer laws against tobacco smoking

The Zambia Consumer Association (ZACA) has called for thorough enforcement of laws against tobacco, as Zambia joins the rest of the world in commemorating the world tobacco day.
ZACA Executive Secretary Juba Sakala says Zambia needs to move away from rhetorics and get down to action in fighting against the ills of tobacco use.
Mr Sakala says there is need to implement and enforce existing tobacco control laws in the country.
And Mr Sakala has called on youths avoid the urge of smoking especially with the development of new tobacco products made to specifically appeal to the youth.
Mr Sakala says these products include as Shisha and e-cigarettes.
And Mr Sakala has condemned the tobacco industry ‘s manoeuvres to highjack the WNTD and turn it into a platform for deceiving the public by coining a” World No Smoking Day”.
