The Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes SACCORD has advised the Patriotic Front PF to develop strong conflict management systems following squabbles ahead of their 2020 convention.

SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Cheembe says the PF through the Secretary General should ensure it has strong internal conflict management mechanisms across party structures so that when conflict arise, it does not lead to violence.

Mr. Cheembe says the PF’s holding of countrywide provincial elections is encouraging  as this shows other political parties on the need to hold democratic but indicates that the practice of democracy comes with its own challenges that must be addressed amicably.

Mr. Cheembe says as a ruling party, the PF must lead by example by ensuring greater investment in internal conflict management systems which will go a long way in promoting more unity and harmony.
