A CONSTRUCTOR of Kabwe has pleaded not guilty in the Kabwe Magistrates Court to defiling his two years eight months old daughter in unexplained circumstances.
The 45 year old man of Kawama Township is charge with one count of incest which he is alleged to have committed on January 9.
The court heard that the man on the material day defiled his daughter when he went with her to where he was constructing a house within Kawama.
When he went back home with his daughter, her aunt saw some blood stains on the baby’s pant and immediately informed the mother who was out in Kapiri Mposhi for work at the time.
The mother immediately returned and confronted her husband over the matter to which he strongly refused, insisting that there was nothing wrong with the baby.
The court further heard that at that point the baby’s mother in the company of her sister decided to take the child to Kawama clinic for examination while the father remained behind.
A clinical officer examined the baby and noticed that she was bleeding from her private part and referred the matter to police who arrested the father as a prime suspect.
The court has set June 11 for trial.
