The National Dialogue Forum closed yesterday with delegates provisionally adopting the draft electoral process bill 2019, the draft public order act bill 2019 and the draft constitution of Zambia (amendment) bill 2019.
Meanwhile the political parties bill was withdrawn from the deliberations following the proposal by the political parties to amend article 60 of 2016 amended constitution.
The forum which was supposed to conclude deliberations in 10 days sat for 16 days and resolved that campaign period be reduced from 3 months to 60 days.
NDF secretary Patrick Chisanga says the members also resolved that Zambia shall remain a Christian nation with the deletion of the word multi religious.
The forum had earlier received a number of criticism from various stakeholders with calling it a sham which was being tabled by patriotic Front PF surrogates.
But Mr Chisanga says the debates were done in the most transparent manner with representation from all sections of society.
And Justice Minister Given Lubinda said citizens must stop entertaining speculation and support positive change.
The three adopted draft bills have since been presented to justice minister Given Lubinda who will later present them to parliament for further deliberations.
