Livingstone District Education Board Secretary Aiden Kambunga has dispelled reports that schools in the district have defied government’s directive for all schools to reduce their fees.
Mr. Kambunga says to the contrary, all schools have adhered to the guidance by the Ministry of General Education to reduce school fees effective this term.
There have been reports that Parents had protested Hillcrest Technical High School Management had refused to implement government’s directive on the new school fees.
But Mr. Kambunga says the Head of the school was only meeting parents on the new development and that the school was going to manage the term especially with the new fees of K1, 200 for boarders.
And Mr. Kambunga says there are no complaints regarding lack of compliance to the new school fees and that it is government’s desire to see more children have access to school.
