Napsa put Nkana in crosshairs

“WE SHALL have to look at our weakness, which is our defence, and work on it as we prepare for Wednesday’s (today’s) game against Nkana. We are looking forward to it because we have to win all our next three games,” Says Napsa Stars coach Mohamed Fathy.
The Stars coach told the Sun Sport in an interview his focus was to collect maximum points from the remaining three games starting with today’s clash against struggling Nkana at Woodlands Stadium.
Fathy said that Saturday’s draw against Power Dynamos where the visitors equalised in the 88th minute was disappointing, but that his team would leave it behind and now concentrate on today’s game against Nkana.
“We have experienced a draw again due to lack of concentration, but it’s football. This game is now gone and we shall look at our next game. As you know this is a mini league and so far we have to focus on the Nkana game on Wednesday (today),” Fathy said.
We have a good team and we have to look at our weakness as we focus on the Nkana game. We still have three games. We shall try to win all the three games, then we’ll see where that takes us,” he said.
Fathy is hoping that a win in all the remaining three games will give his side some chance of sliding into the top two, giving them contention to play continental competitions next season in line with the team’s 2019 target.
The Lusaka-based side take on Nkana that have been struggling in the aftermath of their CAF Confederations Cup elimination. Both sides will be going into today’s game under pressure with Nkana coming from its elimination from the 2019 title contenders list as well as a slot in the confederations Cup after the 12 time champions failed to collect maximum points against Nkwazi at home.
On the other hand, Fathy is looking to impress the club’s board, who appeared to have spent a fortune in assembling a formidable side this season, by trying to at least finish in the top two of the transitional league.
Napsa are in position number five on the Stream B log with 22 points having played 15 games, winning five, drawing seven and losing three games with three games to be played after today’s game against Nkana. With a top two slot out of their reach, Nkana coach Bestone Chambeshi will be hoping that his side avoid relegation talks by aiming to win their remaining five games having failed to pick maximum points in their last four games
