The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in collaboration with Kitwe City Council has seized assorted goods worth K1, 800 following joint inspections conducted in two main retail trading outlets.

CCP Public Relations Manager Namukolo Kasumpa says the seized items had defects and did not meet the mandatory product information standards.

Ms Kasumpa says defects on the seized items included expired dates while others did not have expiry dates.

Ms Kasumpa says other seized items had insufficient labels, inappropriately packaged and some had broken seals.

She has warned suppliers, retailers and distributors to cease selling unsuitable products, especially in rural areas.
