ZAMBIA Super League relegation bound Circuit City coach Mathews Phiri took his frustration to social media site Facebook blaming opponents of using superstitious means to win games.

Phiri blamed his side’s s 1- nil home loss on Saturday to pacesetters Green Eagles on superstitions.

“I hope Eagles will be using the towel in CAF Competitions to win games, it’s really sad for Eagles to doing that,’’ he wrote.

Green Eagles on Saturday added more misery to Circuit City’s woes with winger Spencer Sautu’s goal being the difference separating the two sides on the day.

The loss left Circuit fighting relegation in position number nine on the Zambia Super league stream B table with only two games left before the end of the season.

Circuit are four points above already relegated FC MUZA who sit at the bottom of the table in the stream and will need to win their next two games to rekindle any hope of surviving relegation this season.

The Lusaka-based side are three points less than their closest rivals on the table, Lumwana Radiants on 15 points who on Saturday drew with MUZA.

Circuit have only won three games while recording 10 losses and three draws out the 16 games played so far.

Eagle’s away win over Circuit edged the Choma based side closer to a return in CAF competitions having made their debut last season after finishing fourth in the 2018 season.

But the 2018/19 CAF debutants have in the recent days come under fire from fellow teams over with Nkwazi coach Chris Kaunda having been quoted in the media castigating Eagle’s standard of play while Forest Rangers coach Perry Mutapa accused the Choma based team of having enjoyed favours from match officials.

Eagles lead stream B with 32 points and have an almost guaranteed qualification to either the CAF champions league or Confederations Cup with two games left to play.
