Cyclone Kenneth will not cause damage to Zambia – Met

The Meteorological Department has assured Zambians that Cyclone Kenneth expected to make landfall in parts of southern Africa will not cause damage in Zambia.

Department Acting Principal Meteorologist Oliver Mudenda has confirmed that the cyclone is advancing towards the coast of northern Mozambique and is expected to make landfall tomorrow.

But Mr Mudenda says there is no cause to worry as the cyclone will not cause damage in Zambia because it will have weakened at it makes landfall in northern Zambia.

Mr Mudenda has however confirmed that parts of northern and Muchinga Provinces will experience slight improvements in rainfall activities.C

According to Storm Report South Africa, Cyclone Kenneth poses no threat to Southern Africa at this stage as its trajectory will see the Comores Islands bearing the brunt of the cyclone.
