Border passes issuance at Vic Falls not stopped – Immigration

Written by on April 25, 2019

The Department of Immigration has refuted social media reports that they have stopped the issuance of border passes at the Victoria Falls Border Control in Livingstone.

Department public relations officer Namati Nshinka says Contrary to alarming reports trending on some social media platforms that the Department had suspended the issuance of Border Passes at the Victoria Falls Border Control; the Border Passes are still being issued.

Mr. Nshinka however says in the run up to the Easter Holidays, the Department ran out of the border passes at the Victoria Falls Border Control owing to the higher than expected traffic flows.

He further says the situation has since been rectified and the issuance of Border Passes is going on smoothly.

Mr. Nshinka says sufficient stocks of Border Passes have also been supplied to the Border Control, to ensure the Border Control does not experience another disruption.
