Movement for Multiparty Democracy MMD president Felix Mutati says the National Dialogue Forum gives hope that stakeholders will participate substantively in order to create the necessary changes wanted for the political space.

Mr. Mutati in an interview says it is pleasing that representatives including Members of Parliament from across the political divide got accreditation without exception which is an indication that they  will attend despite claims of some intending to boycott.

Mr. Mutati says the former ruling party is participating in the forum because it has a different interest to cure the conflicts particularly those that emerged from the 2016 elections.

Mr. Mutati says among the contentious issues that should be addressed  include the 14 days interpretation, making the Public Order Act more flexible and enhancing the powers of the Electoral Commission to better conduct elections to minimize conflicts.

He says if the nation is to make progress to deal with issues that are slowing down the unity of this country, stakeholders should participate in the forum where they can make their contributions because without doing so, conflicts will continue to emerge.
