CEEC loaned K318 Million ed to finance business so far

The Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission CEEC says it has disbursed over K318 million in loan forms and financed 2988 projects from 2008 to the first quarter of 2019.

Commission director general Likando Mukumbuta says 80 percent of the financed projects are along the line of rail out of which 34 percent belong to women, 27 percent for the young and 1 percent went to persons with disability.

Mr Mukumbuta says K2, 8 million has been disbursed in the first quarter of 2019 alone and that the commission has projected the creation of 1000 jobs through various industrial yard projects.

He says the commission is also working on geographical equity to ensure that every citizen across the country benefits from the initiative.

He said this during the presentation of the 2019 first quarter report this morning.
