Former United Party for National Development UPND vice president for administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has ditched the opposition party to rejoin the ruling Patriotic Front following his suspension from the opposition party.

He says his decision to rejoin the ruling party comes after a series of events in the opposition that proved that he was not welcome in the opposition party.

Mr. Mwamba says the main reason for his suspension is because people in the opposition party feared he might challenge Mr. Hichilema at the convention.

Mr. Mwamba has since advised UPND members to change its leadership or forever remain in the opposition.

And Mr. Mwamba has stated that he is not looking for a position in the ruling but just wants to rejoin as a member.

Meanwhile UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has wished Mr. Mwamba well in his future endeavors.

Mr. Hichilema has thanked Mr. Mwamba for the services he rendered to the party in the quest to run the country better.
