MAKE SPORTS SPONSORSHIP MANDATORY

GOVERNMENT should make sports sponsorship a pre- condition for investors coming to Zambia to improve standards, says Mozambique- based international footballer Lineker Mwikisa.
In a statement, the former Green Buffaloes striker said that apart from usual corporate social responsibility programme, government must make Sports sponsorship one of the conditions for investors coming to Zambia.
Mwikisa said that by doing so, other sport disciplines would be revived and Zambia would have a strong presence at international tournaments such as the Olympics.
“Even the Expatriate football team coach salary won’t be a problem when you have a budget line supported by everyone wishing to invest in Zambia,’’ said Mwikisa
Even the Zambian premier league would be among the best leagues in Africa as all the teams would have a strong financial muscle.
