Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Dora Siliya has advised media practitioners to sieve fake journalists bent on peddling falsehoods which can tarnish the name of the media fraternity.

Ms. Siliya says here are some unscrupulous individuals hiding behind the curtains of journalism to issue malicious statements that hurt others.

She says not everyone who sits on a computer to write a story is a journalist as the profession had set standards that qualified someone to be recognized as a scribe.

Ms Siliya pointed out that a true journalist is always conscious of ethics and standards that guide the profession.

The minister said this when she visited Daily Nation main office in Lusaka this morning.C

And Daily Nation managing editor, Richard Sakala assured that the newspaper had been truthful in its reporting and works with sources from different walks of life including the opposition political parties.

Mr Sakala also says that Daily Nation is a voice of the voiceless and will continue to champion developmental issues.
