Withdraw National Dialogue Bill – Sinkamba

Written by on March 28, 2019

The Green Party says government should consider withdrawing the National Dialogue Bill before parliament.

Green Party leader Peter Sinkamba says government should instead consider using the recommendations from the commission of inquiry on the electoral violence and voting patterns of 2016 elections.

Mr. Sinkamba says the proposed National Dialogue Bill should be abandoned on account of its flawed originating process.

He says the recommendations of the Commission of inquiry are more legitimate than those that have been recommended by the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue-ZCID.

Mr. Sinkamba says the commission received submissions on the Constitution, electoral process, public order, and political parties in relation to the post-election violence that ensued.
