NAQEZ nodes school user fees reduction

National Action for Quality Education in Zambia NAQEZ has welcomed government’s move to reduce user fees at all public schools in order to increase Zambians access to education.
General Education Minister David Mabumba said yesterday that user fees at all public schools will be reduced next term to increase Zambians access to education and that most schools cannot account for the money they collect from pupils as user fees.
NAQEZ executive director Aaron Chansa says it is a progressive decision that the government has made but that it should be conscious of the implementation so that schools operations are not affected.
Mr. Chansa says this will give an opportunity to vulnerable families to send their children to school.
