NG’ONGA BOUNCES BACK

POWER Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga has returned to the national team ford after almost a one year hiatus having last played for Chipolopolo in the 2018 world cup qualifier against Nigeria in November 2017.
Ng’onga is part of the 25 man local national team that has been called up in preparation for the AFCON 2019 Group K game between Zambia and Namibia to be played on Saturday March 23 at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. Conspicuously missing from the local legion of players that have been called are inform Nkana trio of Ronald Kampamba, Harrison Chisala and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba who all have been instrumental in Nkana’s Confederation Cup journey this season with both Kampamba’s contributing a goal apiece in Sunday’s 3-0 win over local rivals Zesco United.
Nkana hit man, Ronald Kampamba last featured for Zambia in Chipolopolo’s Cofasa final loss to Zimbambwe in 2018 while Mubanga has been part of the team under outgoing coach Sven Vanderbroak.
The 25 players called to camp between March 10 – 13 are Lawrence Mulenga, Justin Munyikwa, Gregory Sanjase, Allan Kamwanga, Jimmy Chisenga, Lawrence Chungu, Stephen Kabamba, Isaac Shamujompa, Luka Banda, Adrian Chama, Munenen Nchimunya, Ernest Mbewe, Bruce Musakanya, Austin Muwowo, Lameck Silwamba, Benson Sakala, Jackson Chirwa, Mike Katiba, George Chaloba, Clement Mundia, Spencer Sautu, Tapson Kaseba, Moses Phiri, Alex Ngonga and Rodger Kola.
